Our Story

Life is full of twists and turns, ups and downs.  We never know what's around the next bend, and for us, that's a beautiful thing!  As a small family-focused distillery, our journey has been full of setbacks and challenges, but also adventure, discovery, and the enjoyment that comes with successfully charting our own course.  Along the way, we are guided by an uncompromising commitment to authenticity, experimentation, integrity, and curiosity.  We will always choose the winding road over the straight path, never knowing quite where it will take us, but assured that it will be an adventure!  Our small team - family, to us - shares our passion and dedication to producing a range of premium craft spirits.  Here at Winding Road Distilling Co., we embrace each day for what it brings and enjoy a lot of laughs along the way.

Every bottle begins here — among the cane fields, hinterland and coastline of the Northern Rivers. This landscape inspires what we make, from fresh-pressed cane to carefully selected botanicals and oak. We distil with a deep respect for place, creating spirits that could only come from here.

From fresh cane to finished spirit, every step is considered.

FRESH-PRESSED CANE

We work with locally grown sugar cane, using fresh-pressed juice to capture the character of the Northern Rivers from the very beginning.

PATIENCE IN THE STILL

Long fermentation and careful distillation allow the character of each spirit to develop naturally. Nothing is rushed.

TIME IN OAK

Carefully selected oak adds depth, texture and complexity, allowing our aged spirits to develop at their own pace.
